Nicholas Cutinha earned the Medal of Honor posthumously in Vietnam when he held aff a North Vietnamese battalion that had ambushed his company. Cutinha charged to the front of his company column when the ambush started, and half of the company was killed or wounded. Cutinha was badly wounded himself, hit in the leg, but he poured on the fire form his M-60, allowing the American troops to evacuate their wounded and withdraw.
Cutinha is buried at Fort Denaud Cemetery in Florida, and his Medal is on display at American Legion Post 130. Please honor and remember Nicholas Cutinha!
