March 5 Robert John Hibbs Medal of Honor

Second Lieutenant Robert John Hibbs earned the Medal of Honor posthumously in Vietnam when he led his patrol in attacking a larger Viet Cong force, and then volunteered to rescue a wounded American. While providing covering fire, Hobbs was mortally wounded. Honor and remember him!

From Des Moines, Iowa, Hibbs was just 22 years old when he was killed in action. A monument at the University of Northern Iowa honors him.
