March 7 Nelson Brittin Medal of Honor

In a “sustained and driving action”, Nelson Brittin led his squad in an uphill attack against entrenched Chinese troops. When his squad was pinned down, Britain moved on alone, tossing grenades into enemy positions and killing Chinese troops with butt stroke and bayonet when his rifle jammed. In all, he killed twenty Chinese troops and destroyed four entrenched machine guns before he was cut down. For his leadership and courage, which allowed his company to seize the hill, he posthumously received the Medal of Honor.

From New Jersey, Brittin had fought in World War II. Please honor and remember him!
