I read about Bernard Bell the other day & was amazed. Bell earned the Medal of Honor OTD during the Battle of the Bulge, leading his squad to seize & defend a blockhouse, killing 20 Germans, capturing 33, & driving back 150. Honor & remember him!
Bell joined the Army from New York City, though he was born in West Virginia. He was an older soldier, 33 years old in 1944, Bell left the Army as a Warrant Officer in 1945. President Truman awarded him the Medal of Honor in August 1945.
After the War, Bell worked for the Veterans’ Administration before passing in 1971. Please honor and remember Bernard Bell, a great American leader!
