Manuel Perez earned the Medal of Honor in the Phillppines when, while scouting forward on Corregidor, he destroyed 11 of 12 Japanese pillboxes blocking his companies’ advance, killing 18 of the enemy in close combat. He was killed a month later in the raid to Santo Tomas in southern Luzon. Honor and remember Manuel Perez!
