Kern Dunagan earned the Medal of Honor for his heroic leadership as a company commander in Vietnam, when he led his outnumbered company during a ferocious two day battle against North Vietnamese and Viet Cong despite being severely wounded. Even after he managed to withdraw the bulk of of his company from the ambush zone, Dunagan insisted on going back to find missing members of a recon platoon, and carrying Sergeant Bob Tullos on his back to safety. Honor and remember this great American leader!
